Panelist #1

Julio Castro

Julio is a GBC alumni from the Construction Management program. He worked at Walsh Canada on both the TTC Pioneer Village Station and Etobicoke General Hospital projects, after which he continued to develop his career at Gillam Group and at Rochon working on several Residential and ICI projects. He has now built an impressive portfolio of projects ranging from $1M to $320M in value. In 2020, he opened his own company, Skyline Builders Corporation, which operates in both the Residential and Commercial sectors. He currently runs two businesses, as Owner & CEO of Skyline and as the Chief Operating Officer and Sr. Project Manager at The Guri Group. Julio likes to snow board and go to the lake or ocean when he isn’t too busy with work.

Carol Amirault

After years in the entertainment field as the co-owner of the Core Group Talent Agency Inc., Carol decided it was time for a major career transition. It was this challenging transition process that led her to become a Career Development Practitioner. Carol graduated from the Career and Work Counsellor Program in 2007 and was thrilled to return to the program in 2011 as a part-time faculty member at GBC. Career Perspectives is her private practice offering a range of services in counselling, facilitation, curriculum development and small business coaching. Clients have included: Centennial College, Right Management and KWA Partners. Carol is a proud member of the Ontario Association of Career Management and the GBC CWC/CDP Alumni Committee. When she is not working, Carol enjoys live theatre and walking her dog, Lola.

Raka Tabassum

Raka is a Brand Marketing and Digital Marketing professional with over 6 years of experience. She is a GBC Alumni graduating from the Digital Media Marketing program. Raka started her career with Sanofi Bangladesh, managing their entire Insulin portfolio with great success. She is currently working for the entrepreneurship hub of George Brown College – startGBC as a Digital Communications & Events Coordinator. Among other responsibilities of her role at startGBC, she consults businesses of various sizes on their marketing (Brand, Social, Digital) strategies.

Dymika Harte

Dymika Harte is an award winning creative entrepreneur, founder of female-powered design agency UNSGND and co-founder of tech company Clutch App — a marketplace that connects new drivers with local instructors. Dymika's passion lies in creating space for young women of colour to work in design and tech, using these skills to serve a social purpose. She is currently on track to become a full-stack developer, with the goal of playing a larger tech role at Clutch and UNSGND, and sharing her knowledge with other aspiring tech entrepreneurs.

Ragavan Baladurai

Ragavan Baladurai is the CEO of Infinite Outsourcing Solutions Inc. His vision for lean operational efficiency, service diversification and creating long term value for business is where Infinite Outsourcing Solution was born in 2013. But his was a long journey starting as a conventional refugee in Canada, with the main goal of completing his education. He enrolled at George Brown College to study Business Admin/Accounting while working full-time. Seeing his ambition and persistence, George Brown College provided tremendous support to complete his studies. Working at Magna, LG and Sobeys was a great learning experience which helped him progress his career and build his business. He believes you can achieve goals that are beyond your capacity by setting definitive objectives and having the right support!

Syed Ishteaque Ahmed

Syed Ishteaque Ahmed remain is a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive IT project management professional who is certified as a PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Product Owner, and NewGenP Product Owner. He has a combined experience of over 15+ years as a Project Manager, Business Analyst, Teacher, as well as, a Web Application Developer. Currently, Syed is the Senior Advisor and Technical Project Lead at the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, Ontario.
